from the estate), in the former buildings of the villages school and the teacher’s dwelling. |

The exposition is located in the building of the school, where since 1970 the library named after the poet and the exhibition had been worked. There are four sections in the exposition: the Bolshoye Shakchmatovo; |
The Shakchmatovo’s surrounding; The main moments in the creative life of the poet; From the history of investigation of Shakchmatovo and museum organization. |

About two hundred exhibits are exposed over there. They are collected from the museum and speak about life and creative work of the poet: the copies of the pictures and the reconstruction of his manuscripts; photographs of A.A.Block and the Beketovs family, their relatives from Moscow; portraits of his friends, the theatrical figures, and kith; the first editions of his poems and poetic cycles, editions of his |
drama plays; book, that produced the most influence upon the forming of the esthetic views of the young poet; the views of Moscow and St-Petersburg, reproduction of the pictures of M.Brubel and M.Nesterov; reproductions of the illustrations and decorations of his dramas, made in his life time; a set of memorial things and a register book from the Michael Archangel church with registration of his wedding. |
