In 1865 D.I.Mendeleev purchased the estate in Boblovo. It is located not far from Klin, on the Klinskaya-Dmitrovskaya hill.
   The house in Boblovo, constructed by the owners’ project, surprised its visitors by the peculiar architecture. It stood on the top of a hill, and the view from this place was colossal. ‘The landscapes are the beauty of our places’. - L.D.Block wrote.

I.A.Yaroshenko, scientists N.M.Menshutkin, I.N.Zelenin, radio inventor A.S.Popov visited D.I.Mendeleev quite often.
    The scientist carried out the meteorological observations in the estate, experiments on agrochemistry, he surprised the local peasants by high crops on his fields. On the 7^th of August 1887 D.I.Mendeleev made a flight on an aerostat to watch the sun eclipse.

   Now in Boblovo there is a museum of D.I.Mendeleev. In survived house of the Smirnovs-Ilyins there is an exhibition of pictures

and exposition ‘The Boblovo of D.I.Mendeleev’, dedicated to the life and work of the great Russian scientist.
